Stake Out Your Claim

Here is the plan for "The Garden". We would like everyone to stake their claim as to which row they would like to take care of.
The plan is to meet April 9th for a big work day to bless "The Garden" then compost and fertilize  and put up the fence. Before then, once you have decided what row you want it would be good to go down and dig out any Bermuda Grass that you can before it starts to root. Most of the rows are dry enough to get into now and weeding is optimal.
On April 16th we will begin planting. More information to follow.
If you have questions contact Linda Trask (674-7557) or Ada Cox (673-2663)

The Water Begins

First water of the year. We will be planting soon and need to test "The Garden" to see how it will water. A few brave souls came to help and learn how to use a siphon tube.

Just like a bunch of kids playing in the mud. Leo Peterson, Debbie Jamison, Blaine Webber and Alan Trask pictured all pitched in to help. Bill Cox and Carroll Clement were also there to help out.
In the end it went pretty well, but it was alot of work. As you can see there are a few low places, but we should be ready to plant April 16th. Put it on your calendar to come and help.

Got Water

The Ditch is in.
We met Monday and Blaine introduced Bill, Alan and I to the watermaster. Then Blaine and Bill dug a new ditch while Ada ran down siphon tubes. "YIKES" that should be fun. After more leveling yesterday we are about ready for water. Bill is going to put the furrows in today and we take water tomorrow. We are looking for people that want to get muddy to help water on Thursday, so if you can help contact the watermaster Carroll Clement (656-3615) or Bill Cox (673-2663).

The Earth Moved

Yes it is still following you.

Sure beats a shovel.

Br. Cox in his element worked hard to get "The Garden" plot turned over. That should help with some of the weeds and make the ground easier to work. We had a meeting Sunday to make out a schedule of events. I will post it when it is finalized.
